FCC authorise destroyed 1000’s of meters of fake pipe and fittings

In Tanzania, FCC authorise destroyed 1000’s of meters of pipe and fittings which were seized in market raids on retailers selling fake and imitation IPS threaded plumbing systems.

Genuine IPS plumbing systems are hugely popular in Tanzania with plumbers and home builders, but in recent years, inferior imitation products have entered the market and people are fooled into thinking that they are receiving the genuine article.

The manufacturer IPS continues to work with authorities in Tanzania to punish companies that bring these products into Tanzania with further actions planned this year.
